Reparations

Just Lutheran, inspired by Pastor Lenny Duncan's call for reparations from the ELCA Churchwide for the Black Lutherans. To support this important conversation, not to replace it, Just Lutheran is starting a reparations fund for Black Lutherans. Our goal is to raise $500 from each ELCA Synod (or $35,000) in 2020. These conversations may take time for Churchwide to discern, but Just Lutheran believes there is a need for reparations beyond any funds provided by our Churchwide structure.
Why now? In many ways, all of this is too late. Simultaneously now is the time to do the right thing. In the words of Martin Luther King, Jr, justice must be All, Here, Now:
